About

I design so that unfamiliar places feel like they were built for you.

Portrait

Marion Perez — UX/UI Designer, Tica Studios.

I grew up in Costa Rica — ticais what we call ourselves, and it’s the name I gave this studio. Moving to the United States meant relearning ordinary things: which form to fill out, which line to stand in, what a screen expected of me.

Some of those experiences were quietly stressful. Others were effortless — and the difference, almost always, was design. That contrast became the question I keep asking in my work: does this make a person feel capable, or lost?

I design digital products that choose capable. That means clear hierarchy, honest copy, and interfaces that behave the way people expect — especially for the people using them on a hard day, in an unfamiliar system, for the first time.

I’m equally comfortable in research, in Figma, and in code, which means I design decisions I can actually carry through to something real. My current focus is product and UX design for tools that people rely on at work.

How I work

Three things I design against

Clarity is hospitality

A clear interface tells a stranger they belong here. I treat structure and plain language as a form of welcome.

Trust is designed, not assumed

People trust products that are honest about what they do. I design for predictability before polish.

Story before screens

Every project starts with a person and a problem. The visuals come after I understand the story.

Let’s make something meaningful together.
